Commitments
Review your reservations and savings plans, with their utilization, waste, savings, and expiry dates.
Commitments lists the reservations and savings plans of your cloud accounts, with the use and the savings of each one. Open it from Optimize > Commitments in the left sidebar.
Use Commitments when you need to:
- See how much of your eligible spend your commitments cover.
- Find commitments with unused capacity.
- Find commitments that cost more than on-demand pricing.
- Find commitments that expire soon, before you renew or replace them.
Supported commitments
DigiUsher reads the commitments from your AWS and Azure data connections.
| Provider | Commitment types |
|---|---|
| AWS | AWS EC2 RI, AWS RDS RI, AWS Compute SP, AWS EC2 Instance SP, AWS Database SP |
| Azure | Azure Reservation, Azure Savings Plan |
Summary
Six cards stand at the top of the page:
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Active commitments | Number of active commitments |
| Coverage | Share of eligible on-demand spend that commitments cover |
| Waste | Share of committed capacity that stayed unused |
| Effective savings rate | Net savings against on-demand pricing, as a percentage of committed spend |
| Expiring < 30d | Number of commitments that expire in the next 30 days |
| Underwater | Number of active commitments in the table that cost more than on-demand pricing |
A line under the cards gives the period and the currency of these values. If you have commitments from more than one provider, a By cloud provider row gives the same values for each provider.
Filters, grouping, and sort
The controls above the table change the rows:
- Group sets the grouping: Type (default), Status, Scope, or None. The Type grouping has the groups Reservations and Savings Plans.
- Sort sets the order: Expires soonest (default), Expires latest, Newest first, or Oldest first.
- Type filters on the commitment types of your providers.
- Status filters on Active, Expired, Canceled, Pending, or Failed. The page starts with Active.
- Scope filters on the place where the discount applies, for example Shared or Resource group.
- Expires shows the commitments that expire within 7, 30, 60, 90, or 180 days.
Clear all returns the filters to the defaults. The total number of matching commitments is at the right. Use the perspectives control in the page header to save a set of filters and to apply it again later.

Enabling EC2 Memory Metrics for Accurate Rightsizing
Install the CloudWatch agent so DigiUsher can read EC2 memory utilization, and make sure that the read-only IAM role of DigiUsher can read those metrics. Without memory data, the rightsizing recommendations use only CPU, network, and disk, and they can propose a smaller instance than a memory-aware analysis supports.
