SpendIQ
Explore cloud spend across services, accounts, regions, tags, pools, and other billing dimensions.
SpendIQ is the main Spend workspace for understanding where cloud costs come from and how they change over time. Open it from Spend > SpendIQ in the left sidebar.
Use SpendIQ when you need to:
- Analyze total spend over a selected date range.
- Group costs by up to three dimensions.
- Filter spend by available billing dimensions.
- Compare trends in charts and inspect daily costs in the table.
- Save and reuse common views with perspectives.
Explore faster with the MCP Server
SpendIQ is the primary place to explore your costs in DigiUsher. For faster, natural-language exploration, pair SpendIQ with the DigiUsher MCP Server, which lets you ask cost questions from supported AI assistants and use SpendIQ to inspect the results.
Flexible Exploration
SpendIQ supports flexible exploration through group-bys, filters, granularity, perspectives, charts, tables, and anomaly context. Use these controls together to move from a high-level spend view into the exact breakdown you need.
Group By
Use Group By to break spend down across available Dimensions, Tags, and Allocated Tags.
- Add up to three group-bys in a single view.
- Combine group-bys to move from broad categories into specific ownership, service, region, account, tag, or allocation views.
- Charts and tables automatically adapt based on the selected group-bys.
Filters
Use Filters to narrow the report to the spend you want to analyze. Filters are available across Dimensions, Tags, Allocated Tags, and Range conditions.
- There is no limit on the number of filters you can apply.
- Combine filters to focus on a specific business unit, workload, provider, service, account, region, tag value, or spend range.
- Filters work together with group-bys and granularity, so the rest of the view updates to match the selected scope.
Granularity and Date Picker
Use the date picker and granularity controls to decide which time period to analyze and how detailed the time breakdown should be.
- Use broader ranges to understand long-term spend movement.
- Use finer granularity when investigating short-term spikes or trend changes.
- Use Date Columns View when comparing data across months, especially when you need month-by-month columns in the table.
Perspectives
If you like a view built with specific group-bys, filters, and granularity, save it as a Perspective. Perspectives make it easy to return to recurring analysis without rebuilding the same view each time.
SpendIQ also includes system-defined perspectives for common scenarios, so you can start from a standard view and adjust it to your needs.
Charts and Tables
SpendIQ charts and tables adapt to the selected group-bys, filters, date range, and granularity. Use charts to understand trends and relationships quickly, then use the table to inspect the underlying breakdown.
DigiUsher regularly improves SpendIQ charts and tables with data analysis so the workspace surfaces useful insights without bias toward any specific provider, service, or dimension.
Anomalies
SpendIQ always shows a quick anomaly overview, giving you immediate context on unusual spend behavior while you explore costs.
For deeper anomaly investigation, open Spend > Radar.
